If you haven’t got on the Korean nail arts bandwagon yet, you might be missing out some of the most amazing and bold nail trends. One of these trends is the high-heel nail. From Instagram to Pinterest, I’ve been seeing this nail art everywhere. Even sites like Popsugar and Byrdie featured it.
The idea of high-heel nail is that you create a thick line of nail polish in the middle of your nail to mimic a high heel. Sound pretty simple, don’t you think? If you’re still in doubt, keep on reading to see how easy it is to create this trendy Korean nail art.
What you’ll need to create high-heel nails like the ones I did:
You’ll also need washi tape and some nail art rhinestones (optional) for decoration.
Keep in mind that you totally can switch up the colors to your liking. Do a quick “high-heel nails” search on Google to see more inspirations.
Step 1:
Apply your favorite base coat to protect your nails.
Step 2:
For the base color, paint all of your nails with a light peachy nail polish. Wait until completely dry.
Step 3:
Cut out some washi tape and tape 2 pieces on each nail. The tapes will act as a guide for your high-heel line. Leave out the ring finger.
Step 4:
Paint a navy blue color in the middle of the 2 washi tape pieces. Quickly remove the tapes before the polish dries out. This should create a clean and sharp line in the middle of your nail.
Step 5:
Paint the ring finger with pink-glittery nail polish. This is optional but you can add some rhinestones at the end of each high heel for some sparks. Just use a little bit of top coat as the adhesive. Lastly, apply fast dry top coat to protect your hard work.
And you’re done!
I got so many compliments for my nails. A lot of people asked if I got them done at a nail salon but no, no! I did them by myself, at home, with the tools that I have. High-heel nails are so easy but very elegant and eye-catching. Depending one your color choices, they can be suitable for any occasions, from casual outings to weddings.
