Sunset is always one of my favorite view. It is, indeed, the most magical moment of the day when the sun goes down and the sky becomes a mesmerizing painting filled with different colors like blue, red, orange, yellow and purple. I was inspired by this beautiful scene to create today tutorial: Sunset Glow makeup look. I know there are already a lot of makeup tutorials on sunset-inspired makeup but here is my easy and wearable version.
What I used:
- NYX Hot Singles Eyeshadow – Bad Seed
- City Color Cosmetics Shimmer Shadow – Cheers To Life $3.99
- Makeup Revolution – Iconic Elements Eyeshadow Palette $7.00
- Makeup Revolution – Unicorns Are Real Eyeshadow Pallete $7.00
- Covergirl – Total Tease Waterproof Mascara $8.99 (See my review HERE)
- Seraphine Botanicals – Liquid Coal Waterproof Liquid Liner $22.00
- Clinique Skinny Stick – Sleek Teak
I’m not a purple eyeshadow kinda girl but I’m so pleased with the final look. This Sunset Glow makeup look is a little bit extra but not too over-the-top. It is wearable for both day and night. Jump over to my Instagram @joliecious to see which lip color I paired with this makeup look.

Covergirl Total Tease Mascara Review
Until next time,
Happy Monday, everyone! I realized that I haven’t done any favorites post in such a long time, simply because I don’t usually try out new products. However, today I have some of my current favorites – from product that helps heal my stubborn acne quickly to SPF on-the-go. I sincerely enjoy these products so much that I can’t wait to share with you guys.

As I’m writing this, August is coming in two days. August also marks a year since I joined the bullet journal community. In the beginning, it was just a mere curiosity. When I saw people posting about their bullet journal setup on Instagram and Tumblr, I thought it was such a great idea to have your own customized planner and I wondered if I could replicate that. I tried…and now, I don’t think I’d ever stop bullet journaling.
After one year, bullet journal has become a part of my routine. Setting it up is something that I look forward to every week and every month. And this month isn’t an exception. Maybe because it’s a one-year mark, I went a little extra on the August bullet journal setup and I really love it. I thought I’d share it with you guys and, hopefully, it will give you some ideas and inspirations for your own bullet journal setup.
My August bullet journal setup was inspired by @amandarachdoodles. Amanda said the coral reef and seashells is a great theme to end the summer and I can’t agree more. This whole “under the sea” theme will reminisce about my summer well spent at the beach.
Hey y’all! *screaming* I found the best drugstore mascara for short lashes.
As you can tell from the title, in this post, I will be sharing with you my thoughts on a fairly new Total Tease Mascara from CoverGirl. But before we jump to the review, I want to talk a little bit about my lashes and what I usually look for in a mascara (!Spoiler alert: don’t click away! You’re about to find the best drugstore mascara for short and straight lashes!).
Asian lashes: what more can I say?! Mine are short and straight. The biggest problem I have with my lashes is that they won’t hold the curl. Period. Wetter formula mascara: the curl won’t stay. Too heavy formula: the curl won’t stay, either. With that said, I’m always hunting for a mascara that is waterproof but not too heavy so it can hold the curl. I also don’t like clumpy lashes; I want volumized but clump-free lashes. Needing to note that I’m a contact lens wearer so I’m always making sure that the mascara is contact lens friendly and won’t irritate my eyes.
Now that you understand my lashes situation. Let’s me share with you my opinion on the CoverGirl Total Tease Mascara.
Summer vibe is in full swing here on my blog. In my last post, I shared with you an easy summer makeup that is cute yet edgy. To continue with the summer theme, today, I want to share with you a flower nail art tutorial that you can rock all summer long. I wore this nail design to my local country fair and received so much compliments. This flower nail art tutorial features a neon-orange nail polish (Game Changer) from Trust Fund Beauty that I got in my Ipsy’s June Glam Bag.
Don’t be fool by the look of it, this flower nail art is super easy to do. All you need are some dotting stools.
Guys, I have a confession.
I’ve been neglecting my eyeshadows so much lately. Instead, I’ve been using blushes on my eyes. Yes, you read it right! Blushes! Half of me worries that my eyeshadows might expire without being put in good use (if you have expired/old eyeshadows, check out this post to see how I turn mine into nail polish), but the other half kinda loves the idea of using blushes in place of eyeshadows. They are so colorful and pigmented. Also, who doesn’t like multi-purposes beauty products?
Today’s makeup tutorial features some of my most favorite blushes. I think this look is so suitable for the summer because of the orange coral hue. So, without further ado. Let’s start!
